The Firm was established on 1st June 2009 under the name and style of Yap Chi Wee & Partners. 1st of September 2010, it had changed its name to Messrs Chui, Yap & Co. On 1st of June 2017, it had changed again its name of which it remains as Messrs Chew & Yap until today.

DR. LIM SIN KEAT

B. Juris (Hons)(Malaya), CLP
Dr Lim Sin Keat is a Senior Associate at Messrs Chew & Yap.

He obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Malaya (UM) in 1990. He had also obtained Diploma in General Dental Practice (DGDP) and Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (MFGDP) from Royal College of Surgeon (UK) in 1997. Moreover, he had obtained Fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD), Fellow of Academy of Dentistry International (FADI), Fellow of the International College of Continuing Dental Education (FICCDE) from US in 2005.

In 2012, he obtained his Bachelor of Jurisprudence Degree from University of Malaya (UM). In addition, he had received his Certificate in Legal Practice from the Qualifying Board of Malaysia in 2014. He was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor at the High Court of Malaya in 2015.

NUR NAJIHAH NABHAN BINTI NORIZAN

LLB (Hons) IIUM
Nabhan graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2020. She commenced her pupillage on July 2020 at Messrs Eidah Sulaiman & Co. under the guidance of Puan Nur Eidah Binti Sulaiman where she handled matters in relation to civil litigation and conveyancing.

During her previous role at Tetuan Eidah Sulaiman & Co., she had the opportunity to conduct research and gathering of legal documents in preparation for trials,
attending case management in front of Deputy Registrar of the High Court, conducting interviews with clients and other lawyers and also handled briefs in respect of matters pertaining to adoption, tort claims, matrimonial matters (interim maintenance and custody, nullity of marriage, joint petition), Probate and Letter of Administration, Transfer & Transmissions related to Deceased’s estate. Upon completion of her pupilage on June 2020, she remained in the same firm as a paralegal pending her call to the Malaysian Bar.

In September 2021, Nabhan joined Messrs Chew & Yap as an Associate following her admission as an Advocate and Solicitor on 10 September 2021 where she is exposed to conveyancing matters.

CHEW YAO HEONG, JOHN

B. Juris (Hons)(Malaya), CLP
John Chew is one of the Founder and Partner at Messrs Chew & Yap.

He obtained his Bachelor of Jurisprudence Degree from University of Malaya (UM) in 2013 and received his Certificate in Legal Practise from the Qualifying Board of Malaysia in 2014. He was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor at the High Court of Malaya in 2015.

Over the years, he has advised private sector clients across various areas of law which include:-

YAP CHI WEE

LLB (Hons) Malaya
Chi Wee graduated from the University of Malaya and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor at the High Court of Malaya on 2003. Chi Wee was a Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam's (“JPA”) scholarship holder. In 2004, she was offered the position of a Federal Counsel in the Attorney General's Chamber by JPA.

Chi Wee read in Chambers of Ms Wong Lu Peen at Messrs Wong Lu Peen & Tunku Alina in 2002. Later, she joined Messrs Tan Kim Soon & Co as a legal assistant in March 2003 and was assigned to conduct litigation matters.
During her stint with Messrs Tan Kim Soon & CO, Chi Wee has made numerous appearances in the Subordinate and High Courts across the country and has extensive experience in general litigation and advisory works on, among others the following:
In March 2006, Chi Wee joined Messrs Abraham Ooi & Partners as a conveyancing legal assistance. During her stint with Messrs Abraham Ooi & Partners, Chi Wee’s clients include local and foreign banks and financial institutions (including Ambank Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, Affin Bank Berhad, Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, Public Bank Berhad, Eon Bank Berhad, OCBC Bank Berhad, HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad and United Overseas Bank (M) Berhad to attend to both conventional and Islamic loan documentations, for both consumers and commercial, and individual and company. Chi Wee is conversant in English, Malay, Mandarin and various dialects including Hokkien and Cantonese.

On 1st June 2009, Chi Wee has set up her own firm under the name of Yap Chi Wee & Partners and maintained an office at No. 11-1, Jalan Opera EU2/E, TTDI Jaya, 40150 Shah Alam, Selangor and since then has been conducting loan documentation for various banks and conveyancing matters until on the 1st June 2010, Chi Wee joined partnership with Chui Fei and changed the firm’s name to Chui, Yap & Co since then.

Since the establishment of Messrs Yap Chi Wee & Partners, Chi Wee has been involved in banking conveyancing both business commercial and consumer loans. Besides that, Chi Wee also has been engaged to be panel consultant for developer’s project, namely GD Development Sdn Bhd which based in Puchong for new development of township as well as giving legal advice for foreign contracts for GD Development Sdn Bhd and its related subsidiaries.

Chi Wee is now actively involved in Developers’ Projects and has been assisting few Developers’ sales personnel in corporate matters involving the projects.

DATO’ LOH CHUN HOO, FRANK

LLB (Hons) Leicester, UK, CLP
Dato’ Frank graduated from the University of Leicester and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor at the High Court of Malaya on 2002.

Dato’ Frank read in Chambers of Tengku Alina at Messrs Wong Lu Peen & Tunku Alina in 2002. Later, Dato’ Frank joined Messrs Stanley Chang & Partners as a legal assistant in 2003 and where he had performed a long time service with the firm until 2018 where he set up his own.

Dato’ Frank has been involved in heavy litigation battles in courts throughout his years of practice.
Besides that, Dato’ Frank also has been engaged to be panel consultant for developers’ projects and to name a few, SKS Pavilion Sdn Bhd and Guangxi Dev & Cap Sdn Bhd as well as giving legal advice for foreign contracts for the developers and its related subsidiaries.

Dato’ Frank is now actively involved in developers’ projects as well as World Chinese Economic Forum and alike platforms which are jointly organized by WCEIC (The World Chinese Entrepreneurs and Intellectuals Club), Sanya Public Diplomacy Institute and partnership with Silk Road International Foundation, China Development Institute, China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce, MRCA (Malaysia’s Retail Chain Association, SME Malaysia which managed by WCEF Sdn Bhd, KASI Institute, ISI International, Strategy Institute with strategic partners Silverlake, The MUI Group, Kuok Brothers Sdn Berhad, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad and Bank Mayapada and Dato’ Frank has been also assisting few Developers’ personnel in corporate matters involving the projects.
